Summer active in the Hochkönig region - there is much to do. Some want to hike around the high mountains of the Hochkönig or the "Sea of Rocks", others prefer riding their bicycle, roadbike, mountainbike or E-bike through the region. Especially the younger ones are looking for fun and action, whereas others do not want to be active all the time. Some also want to relax and taking it easy.

Flying high with hiking and alpine hiking

Into the place Maria Alm and the entire region you can find hundreds kilometers of hiking- and walking paths. Have you ever seen those yellow signs, which indicate direction and distance? We have plenty of them. When you start your hike in the morning, take the Hochkönig-Hiking-Bus to the next cable-car-station. With the Hochkönig Card the lift will take you up the mountain and you start your hike high up the mountains in the middle of the alpine region Hochkönig.

Up and down with roadbike or mountainbike

Whatever you want - single-lane is essential. Roadbikers and friends of slim tires will have a good time on the mountain roads between the Filzen- and Dientner Pass. If you do the entire "Hochkönig Loop" you will have a lot to paddle, but it's worth it. Motorbikers also love the mountain roads in our region. If you ride your motorbike over the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße you need a good technique. Mountainbikers will be very happy on some scenic and beautiful routes around Maria Alm and Dienten. On the classic mountainbike tour to the Hundstein, bikers will not only find a nice hut on top, the view to the nearby Lake Zell is stunning.

Fun and Action for young and old

Not everybody loves it to run through the mountains all day long or to ride his/her bike through the Hochkönig region. Fun and action is also very important - not only for the young. The Hochkönig region has to offer a variety of attractions and sights, you really have to visit. Directly in Maria Alm there is the high-rope-park Natrun, where a lot of up and down is going on. Or you take a rest in one of the surrounding public pools or on a horse sleigh. Enjoy some thrilling games at minigolf or tennis.
